Robbie Williams has expressed that people from the 1990s “shouldn’t be held accountable for how we think and feel now,” highlighting how perspectives and understanding have evolved over time.

The Rock DJ singer attended the European premiere of his biopic, Better Man, in London, describing the event as one of the proudest moments of his career. Despite the film exploring the challenges and darker moments of his life as a young pop star, Williams shared that he holds no resentment toward his past.

“People from the 90s shouldn’t be held accountable for how we think and feel now,” Williams told Sky News. “We didn’t know, and now we do. So things can and will change. I can already feel it around me—how I am treated and how we treat each other.”

He added, “But you can’t know what you don’t know, and we just didn’t know in the 90s. That has to be okay.”

The biopic, where Williams is represented as a CGI chimpanzee, follows his journey as an artist, capturing his rise, fall, and eventual resurgence. The creative choice reflects how the former Take That member views himself.
